Domaine Dugat-Py
History
The Dugat family has been cultivating vineyards in the prestigious Gevrey-Chambertin appellation since the early 17th century. Bernard Dugat and his son, Loïc, are the 12th and 13th generations to steward this esteemed heritage, skillfully preserving and refining the time-honored craft of winemaking and vineyard cultivation passed down through four centuries of dedication and passion.
Sustainability & Excellence
Deeply committed to biodynamic practices, focusing on maintaining the health of the land and vineyards, without any use of chemical pesticides or fertilizers. This dedication to sustainability is rooted in respect for the environment and the family’s centuries-old winemaking traditions. Dugat-Py is known for producing wines in limited quantities, allowing for meticulous care and attention to detail in every step of the winemaking process. Their wines are well-known for their powerful structure, rich flavor profiles, and remarkable aging potential. The Pinot Noir wines, in particular, often display deep fruit character, earthy complexity, and a distinctive minerality that reflects the unique terroir of Gevrey-Chambertin.
Exceptional Terroirs
The domaine’s vineyards are located in some of the most prestigious sites within Gevrey-Chambertin, including Grand Cru vineyards such as Chambertin and Mazis-Chambertin, as well as several Premier Cru plots. These exceptional terroirs contribute to the domaine’s reputation for producing wines of remarkable depth and complexity.
