Domaine A.-F.Gros
History
Situated in Burgundy’s renowned Pommard region, Domaine AF GROS was founded in 1988 by the visionary Anne-Françoise GROS. Renowned winemaker François PARENT, Anne-Françoise’s husband, has crafted wines celebrated for their elegant and complex Pinot Noir.
Today, the estate thrives under the guidance of their children, Caroline and Mathias. This talented duo is not only dedicated to the craft of winemaking, but also to the stewardship and evolution of the Domaine, managing its operations, growth, and global presence with passion and expertise.
Viticulture
The winemaking process here follows a traditional and straightforward approach. After a manual harvest and meticulous sorting, the grapes are fully de-stemmed and undergo cold maceration at 5°C for 4-5 days. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks (max. 34°C) over the course of 2-3 weeks, with occasional pigeage and remontage. After fermentation, the wine is transferred into oak barrels—40% new for the village wines, 66% new for 1er Cru, and 100% new for Grand Cru—and aged for 12 months in cellars kept at 12°C. The wine is then blended in neutral oak barrels and bottled in the spring, without fining or filtration.
